Maybe I misunderstood, but I took that to mean wearing multiple pairs of jeans at the same time. That just makes me think of Tobias from Arrested Development...

I've seen jeans layers with a skirt/dress that occasionally looks really good. My roommate Emily does it all the time and it looks perfectly normal. But jeans on top of jeans??

My roommate does it from the context of "it's really cold outside," she just also manages to be very fashionable.

They make something for that very situation. It's called "thermal underwear". Try it sometime.

can i add a third option? "would cause really awkward walking"? plus, it doesn't sound very comfortable! why not just wear long underwear and jeans?

Sorry, Tim. Wearing something under jeans is a good idea when it's cold, but like everyone's been saying, long underwear is a far superior choice, for practical as well as fashionable reasons.
