So I bought this today. So here's the question - if you saw me on the scooter with my dog and a helmet (gotta be safe, you know), would you laugh at me?

I answered "Yes, if you didn't know me" but really, I'd probably snicker if I knew you, didn't know you, whatever. Scooters are silly. :-)

...doesn't mean I wouldn't get one if I lived in an area with more paved roads and/or sidewalks...

No sidewalks here, but the roads are paved! I figure no one really knows me here in this neighborhood. I do have a coworker who lives a few streets away, but I'll avoid her street and hopefully we'll be good to go.

I'd laugh. It's still a clever idea, though. There was a guy downtown who'd walk his dogs while riding a bike. They were some extremely well behaved dogs.

You totally could have gone for a longboard though. Same price range, and longboards are more stable and meant for cruising around. You'd be way cool. Perhaps even hip.

See, I wanted something with a handle, so I wouldn't have to rely so much on balance. Plus, I bought it used, so the pickings were a little slim. If I had my way, I'd actually have bought something else, that was even more expensive, but that Tim says looks even stupider.

Segway is more on the third tier. Although if I was rich heck yeah. Although if I was rich I'd probably just hire someone to walk the stinking dog. You know, stimulate the economy and all that.
